NYC fashion trends

Gen Xer here who spent decades living in Manhattan and Brooklyn since age 21, and now lives in CT in the burbs. I usually get back to the city around once a month, mostly visiting friends at their homes. I was recently in the East Village at a restaurant with a friend. What surprised me was all the young Gen Z aged women were all dressed similarly to influencers like Alix Earle
(who I think is very pretty and stylish) BUT there was very little originality or edge. While I’d expect some of that look, it was literally EVERYWHERE – no more funky hair, piercings, platform shoes or artsy looks. Is Manhattan now ALL just corporate looking?
