I (30M) went to a bar called Monsieur, a new bar owned by filmmaker Baz Luhrmann. And had the most appalling experience there and am curious about whether I can do something. This is a Saturday night. My friend was having a birthday get-together drinks there. He and his group went in when there were

Can someone explain Cocodaq to me like I’m five

I finally went because every NYC food account acts like it’s a spiritual awakening and I’m genuinely confused. It’s fried chicken. Good fried chicken, sure. But the whole thing feels like: ✨ nugget ✨ caviar ✨ $38 That’s it. That’s the menu. It’s not inventive. It’s not complex. It’s not even particularly interesting. It’s literally

S Wan Cafe’s Pork Chop with Onions Over Rice for $9.50. Most items on their menu are around $10 or less. (Chinatown, Manhattan)

Google Maps Page S Wan Cafe is a local and casual joint serving some Hong Kong cafe classics and more. Nondescript and unpretentious, they’re just serving solid food at a good price. The pork chop was tender and seasoned well. Perfect with the crisp onions and white rice. Menu photos are from 2 months ago

We walked the length of Manhattan today and this is everything we ate along the way

1) G’s coffee shop Inwood – breakfast tacos with everything. 10/10 these were fantastic, slightly too spicy but in the best way, vibe in here was really nice, service was great. Would love to go back for the breakfast burrito 2) Kuro Kirin Espresso & Coffee – flat white, 8/10. Satisfied this coffee snob! 3)

Yellow cab scam from JFK

The past couple times I’ve taken a yellow cab from JFK, when I arrive at my destination the driver wants me to tap my card on his phone rather than use the in-car POS card reader. Both times the driver has said that the card reader is “frozen” or “broken.” And each time I’ve refused

Peter Luger experience

Finally went to Peter Luger today (Brooklyn) and the servers were not rude, the porterhouse was amazing and the cheesecake was superb. After reading so many comments about this place, I was low key worried. Why is there so much hate for this place? Yes it was expensive, but I think all steakhouses are expensive

What’s something tourists complain about in NYC that locals actually like?

I hear tourists complain about NYC all the time—too loud, too crowded, too fast, “people are rude,” etc. But a lot of those things feel like part of the charm once you actually live here.
