Any MTA workers here? Why do you guys drive past people clearly waiting for the bus?

This time, I wasn’t even the one waiting. I was on lunch, walking back to work. I saw an elderly couple with two young children (assuming grandkids) waiting at the stop. The bus driver looked in their direction and just kept driving. He had a red light just a few feet away, so he ended […]

2 Bros selling a 2 dollar slice, is this the future of “cheap pizza” or just one rogue store?

I commute to midtown Manhattan daily for work and often rely on local affordable eateries to sustain myself. I work in service & while customers are still buying, my paycheck dropped nearly 40% since October & food costs keep rising so every cent counts when I’m looking for fast calories. 2 bros has been a

The ‘wine after every terrible commute’ habit got out of hand – recommendations?

Throwaway for obvious reasons. I moved to NYC three years ago for work (finance). At first, the whole “decompress with a drink after a brutal day” thing felt normal. Everyone does it, right? Grab drinks after work, wine on the Metro-North home, beers while watching TV to unwind from the chaos. But somewhere along the

3% credit card charge is now almost everywhere – is this the new normal?

Before one could say don’t patronize the business, but now it’s almost everywhere, so it’s hard to avoid. So many food establishments and really any service as well – florists, cobbler, etc. Larger grocery stores are still not doing it. I’ve filed complaints with 311 on a couple of businesses. Both ended up with notices

Does anyone know these twin sisters in black who walk around Manhattan late at night?

I’ve been living in NYC for a long time and I’ve seen the same pair of twin women several times over the years, and I’m really curious if they’re some kind of local “urban legend” or if anyone knows who they are. Here’s what I remember: – I first saw them around 2016–2017, and then

Do NYers wear less boots and more sneakers than they used to 10+ years ago?

I don’t know if I remember this correctly but I swear I used to see more boots out on the street. Now it’s so much Hoka, On, and other sneakers. It could be pouring rain and almost everyone is still wearing (white) sneakers, not rain boots. Does anyone else remember? submitted by /u/NewYorkerGuy [link] [comments]
