Finally went to Peter Luger today (Brooklyn) and the servers were not rude, the porterhouse was amazing and the cheesecake was superb. After reading so many comments about this place, I was low key worried. Why is there so much hate for this place? Yes it was expensive, but I think all steakhouses are expensive

I recently moved to NYC and there are so many restaurants I want to try, which include hole-in-the-wall noodle spots, omakase counters, random bakeries I see on Tiktok but I don’t have someone to go with. Where I’m from, eating out alone is lowkey seen as “something’s wrong” behavior. Like people assume you just got

Awesome matchbook from Wild Cherry! They offer French influenced traditional American food. The room evoked a speakeasy/ art deco vibe and the service was informal and entertaining! For starters, we went with the Caesar Salad & the Beets & Sunchokes and enjoyed the Cheeseburger, Lobster Club and I highly recommend ordering the Kielbasa & Kraut.

I’ve made a list of some pretty horrible dining experiences. It seems like places are becoming more and more inconsistent the worse the economy is getting. Pork belly, beef brisket, and “Cora’s broccoli salad” — a nice complement to the meats, which I’d never tried — at Fette Sau in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Google Maps page. It’s right by Wah Fung. They have the regular and pineapple bun versions. Tao Hong’s pork filling is less fatty than Mei Lai Wah’s. Their other pastries, like their egg tarts, are also really good. Plus, the owner is really nice. submitted by /u/justflipping [link] [comments]

This cold winter day’s got me feeling nostalgic. What restaurants or eateries of the past would you bring back if given the chance? For me, it’s a tie between Caracas Arepa & Marble Dessert Bar. It bothers me how people bring their dogs to places we eat. I can’t blame businesses because by law they can’t do anything out of fear of being sued. They can ask if it’s a service dog which dog owners can simply say yes without any proof. And many dog owners lie about their dog

I commute to midtown Manhattan daily for work and often rely on local affordable eateries to sustain myself. Not sure if it’s the exact location, sort of an odd corner near Hudson Yards, lack of marketing or something else, but a mostly empty room on a Sunday night.
