I live in lower manhattan and last went to Canal street like 5 years ago cuz an out of town friend wanted to buy a purse. Then it was mostly Chinese ladies selling reps and would show u like a catalogue of what they had. I walked by today and its all African men selling knockoffs.
Why the demographic change? It made sense to me that Chinese-Americans would have connections to get cheap Chinese knock offs to sell, but how are these African guys getting them? Why did the Chinese let them take their turf? How, why and when did this happen?
