Title. I live in NY but commute to NJ occasionally for various reasons, and have been buying into a lot of the fearmongering about how the city will shut down completely during the World Cup matches.
But then I just saw a comment on another post that made this exact point: how is it any different than a normal game at the stadium? It’s not like they built any extra seats at the stadium, right? And other games don’t cause the city to shut down, do they?
So why are we so concerned about the World Cup matches drastically affecting our daily lives?
