Before anyone gets concerned, I want to clarify this isn’t anything worrying or shady LOL. I just really enjoy finding ‘liminal’ spaces in NYC, quiet or weird spots amongst the craziness where no one would think to go. I’m currently going through a break up and I’d really like to go be at peace alone in one of these weird, liminal, almost hidden places. Think the back corner booth in a bar in Midtown or a near-empty public seating place. I truly feel at peace in spaces like these, some examples for context are:
– The upper floors at the AMC Village 7
– Franklin D. Roosevelt Park on Roosevelt Island
– Ascent Lounge in Columbus Circle (I loooove slightly dated/not super trendy bars and cocktail lounges for this specific purpose)
– The basement of the 42nd St. NYPL
