On Sunday in the middle of the day at Atlantic Av-Barclays subway station, a man (6+’ ft black man and I’m a 5′ Asian woman) approached me and snatched my phone. While trying to ask for it back, the man hit me really hard in the chest. I was able to get my phone back with a help of a good Samaritan but he had to fight the guy to get it back. The police never came so the man is still on the loose.
Since then, I have been unable to submit a police report at the nearby precinct and no way to leave a voicemail (prob for obvious reasons). I know there is online NYPD police reporting but not sure if I should fill it out for a stolen item bc technically we were able to get my phone back.
Any thoughts?
As a side note, a nice lady sent me videos of the fight but not when the man hit me and took my phone.
Update: Forgot to mention that the guy also hit another woman 10 min before me and also ruined the Auntie Anne’s in the station.
