As stunning and gorgeous and amazing as it is, I cannot get over seeing those sad horses being worked to death. It’s seriously heart breaking I can’t get the image out of my head. They looked sad and broken and the people in charge of them looked like assholes. I asked one of the guys if they’re treated okay and he said no, they’re not.
It’s just heartbreaking. I wish a bill would pass and end this lunacy or that their stupid union wasn’t a thing. There’s nothing “classic” about abuse and those poor creatures deserve decent, good lives. It was infuriating to see other tourists pay abhorrent amounts of money to ride.
I’m enjoying New York City a lot but damn it was depressing. If there’s petitions or anything else that can be done to get a step closer to ending it, please share.
