Their sauce is definitely my favorite. It’s got the perfect sweet and tangy balance. Another reason I love NYC is you can get food from pretty much everywhere, and there’s something for everyone.
Who’s turning down crispy fried chicken covered in sweet and sour sauce with a Diet Coke? Not me.

Dude, didn’t expect this to spark this much discussion, but I gotta share one of my favorite comments from Karon L:
“American-Chinese food was created more than a century ago by Chinese immigrants/labourers from mostly Guandong, who adapted Cantonese recipes using whatever ingredients they could get stateside (and along they way creating some killer dishes). It has been perfected and passed down. It was created as a means for survival because they had very few other employment opportunties.”
At the end of the day, food shouldn’t be put into boxes. Whether it’s traditional or adapted, food is how culture evolves and gets passed down. It brings us joy, comfort, and memories. Most importantly, it keeps us and our stories alive. 🤞
