Which restaurants recently exceeded your expectations despite you already being excited?

We all often research pretty intensely before we choose where to eat. Which places recently have, despite you already researching and being excited, still exceeded those expectations? Which dishes stood out?

Mine was the Russ & Daughters Holland Herring. I saw their owner hyping up the Nieuw Holland Herring on ig. I was so excited to try it. Regardless, it still blew me away. Incredible sashimi texture and the cornichons and chopped onion add that needed crunch. Knowing it’s only available during a seasonal window added to the joy of it. And I thought the $13 price point was fair.
