My (almost) month long food journey through NYC

Had to spend an extended amount of time (3.5 weeks) in NYC for work so I turned it into the ultimate food tour for myself. I can honestly say I did not have a bad meal. How did I do?

Tsukemen noodles at Okiburo House of Tsukemen: 11/10 noodles were perfectly chewy and bouncy

Chicken Kee Mao at Soothr: 10/10 char on kee mao noodles was perfection

Lamb Laffa at Theodora: 8/10 I think I hyped this place up too much in my head, outstanding solid flavors but not mind blowing

Niku Udon at Raku: 100/10 this is my death row meal

Thai Cheesesteak at Thai Diner: 11/10 traditional or not idc I’ve thought about this cheesesteak every day since I had it

Nigiri at Rosella: 9/10 best a la carte sushi in NYC (I’m not a huge fan of omakase)

Burger at Nowon: 8/10 the best burger I ate in NYC, only let down here was the chopped cheese rice cakes it felt like fancy hamburger helper lol

Crab curry at Fish Cheeks: 7/10 everything was delicious but I was let down by the crab curry, felt like it was missing something and honestly a little thin/watery?

Eggplant dip at Sofreh: 8/10 very warming and unique combination of flavors, only gripe is everything kinda tasted the same

Spicy pork platter at Kisa: 11/10 I don’t get the hate on this place it’s delicious and a ton of food for the price

Pancit noodles at Naks: 9/10 just solid, no notes

Khao soi at Sappe: 10/10 khao soi was perfectly balanced, skewers were delicious

Truffle pasta at Fiaschetteria Pistoia: 9/10 skip the lines at other Italian places in the village and come here

Chicken Anakarli at Bungalow: 8/10 very friendly service, everything was solid just didn’t wow me

Galbi rice bowl at Hojokban: 10/10 everything I had was insane, I know this is more Korean fusion but it slapped

Tortellini at Torrisi: 9/10 this is the best pasta dish in NYC

Lort Cha at Lula Mae: 9/10 solid, place needs to be talked about more

Banoffee French toast at Lords: 9/10 yes I also got the burger and it was great but the banoffee French toast was the star of the show

Steak for 2 at Peter Lugers: 8/10 had to, yes I know it’s overrated, yes I know it’s a tourist trap, it was delicious

Tonkotsu at Ichiran: 8/10 not the best ramen I’ve had in my life but loved the experience and loved how the broth was flavorful but not too heavy

Not pictured but I also tried my fair share of pizza/bagels/desserts. Best pizza is Bleecker Street (FIGHT ME IDC), best bagel is Apollo, best dessert is the Thai tea French toast at Thai Diner. Best cocktails is a tie between Paradise Lost and Double Chicken Please. I also held a chocolate chip cookie contest (where I was the only judge) and Culture Espresso was the winner.

Only gained a pound while I was there – 15k steps a day FTW
