Sushi 35 West (Midtown), The GOAT Delivery Sushi?

Among all the “premium” sushi delivery options in NYC—Sushi Noz, Kissaki, Nobu, Tanoshi, Sugarfish, et cetera—I more often than not find myself returning to Sushi 35 West.

It consistently delivers well, and the quality always punches above its price point.

Maybe not surprising for acolytes of NYC legend Masa Takayama, the eponymous chef and owner of the three-Michelin-starred Masa ($900 per person).

For a truly special occasion, I’d probably still pony up for Sushi Noz (the Noz Box [$315] and the Uni & Toro Don [$185] are legitimate showstoppers). But in almost every other circumstance, I can enthusiastically recommend Sushi 35 West.

I usually go for the omakase (35 pieces, $135), which I appreciate for including botan ebi, ikura, toro, and uni. The ikura, in particular, is always well-marinated and a pleasant umami bomb—most of the time, ikura is the forgotten stepchild of mid-range NYC sushi, not so here.

I’ll also vouch for the spicy scallop roll (h/t Sushi Seki).

Yes, it’s not edomae-style sushi, but this is also luxury delivery sushi.

Lighten up.

Sushi 35 West is outstanding with respect to its consistency, quality, deliverability, and QPR.
