New Lower East Side Gallery Openings: Your Guide to Manhattan’s November 2026 Contemporary Art Exhibitions

November is one of the busiest months on the Lower East Side calendar. Most of the neighborhood’s galleries turn over their programs in the first week of the month, and a second wave follows in mid-to-late November. Here is what opens this month, in order of opening date, followed by a short list of major shows that are still on view.

Why November Is a Good Month for the Lower East Side

The LES gallery district is compact and walkable, with dozens of spaces packed around Orchard, Eldridge, Grand, Broome, and Rivington Streets, plus a growing group of spaces along the Bowery and Ludlow Street. Because so many galleries open shows within the same few days, the first weekend of the month is the easiest time to cover a lot of ground, and the mid-month openings give you a reason to come back.

Planning Your Lower East Side Gallery Crawl

Start with Grand Street. Marc Straus, Underdonk, Kates-Ferri Projects, and Abrons Art Center are all on or near Grand Street, so one walk covers four of this month’s openings.

Use the Eldridge and Orchard corridor. Miguel Abreu, Kiang Malingue, Hannah Traore, Perrotin, McKenzie Fine Art, and Lesley Heller sit within a few blocks of each other.

Check hours before you go. Several spaces keep Thursday-through-Sunday schedules or are open by appointment only, and Gallery Onetwentyeight’s anniversary show runs on weekends only.

Plan around closures. Perrotin is closed November 26 – 28 and Amos Eno is closed November 16 – December 2.

Return mid-month. Openings on November 10 – 14 and again on November 19 add a second wave of new work.
