The Annual Pumpkin Flotilla

Especially if you are celebrating Halloween in New York with kids, one of the best events for you to attend is the Pumpkin Flotilla in Central Park. Every year on the day before Halloween, Central Park offers lots of fun activities for kids, including pumpkin carving, spooky storytelling, and a Halloween Parade. If you want to join, be sure to put on your best Halloween costumes!

The highlight of the Halloween celebration, however, is the Pumpkin Flotilla. As is gets dark around 6:30 pm, priorly carved pumpkins are released into the Harlem Meer and will be float around for 30 minutes. The spectacle draws hundreds of visitors to the northeast corner of Central Park.

The Annual Pumpkin Flotilla usually takes places at Halloween on October 31st. In 2026 the event got cancelled.

How to get to the The Annual Pumpkin Flotilla?

The Harlem Meer is located to the northeast of Central Park (between 106th – 110th Street). You can reach it by subway lines 2 3 (stop Central Park North (110 St)) or 4 6 (stop 110 Street).
