This is by far the weirdest illness I‘ve ever experienced, and I’m really struggling to knock it. About three weeks ago, I was at work when I started to feel a slightly scratchy throat around 3 pm. By the time I got home, I was curled up in bed with a fever and intense body aches, accepting my fate. The next day I was COMPLETELY down for the count. Sore throat, massive headache, fever, body aches, fatigue. I’ve never had an illness come on so quickly in my life.
Urgent care tested me for strep but it ended up coming back negative. The symptoms lasted about 48 hours, and I felt *mostly* better quickly after. Exactly one week later, I came down with the exact same symptoms and just assumed I didn’t fully knock it the first time.
That was two weeks ago, and today I’m starting to feel that same scratch in my throat and fatigue, although this time my throat is burning. I’ve never been sick this consecutively in my life and have no idea how to get rid of this thing. Is anybody else experiencing the same symptoms?
EDIT: I’ve already had Mono before and the symptoms I experienced for that were much worse. Not ruling it out but I don’t think that’s what this is. I also don’t know why they didn’t test me for the flu, covid, and rsv, obviously they should’ve but my symptoms presented so clearly as strep i guess they didn’t feel the need to?
