I just got back from a trip to Hong Kong and had the best wonton noodle soup I’ve ever tasted. Super delicate wontons, thin springy noodles, and a subtle but flavorful broth. Both the pork and shrimp dumplings were amazing – the shrimp had a slight umami, salty flavor and the pork kind of tasted like the most delicious sausage I’ve ever had.
Now I’m back home in NYC and hoping to find something that comes close. I know there are a lot of Cantonese spots in Chinatown and beyond, but I’m specifically looking for places that taste authentic to that Hong Kong style. I’ve had BBQ meats and dim sum that compares, but the wonton soup was on another level.
Would love any recommendations!
