I grew up eating Chinese takeout in Massachusetts / New England and I feel like it’s VERY different from what I’ve been finding in NYC.
Boneless spare ribs that are sweet, a little sticky, slightly fatty (not dry or super lean)
Crispy crab Rangoon’s that are super thin
And duck sauce that has apple sauce base
Extra points if I can get a combo plate with lo mein and two mains!!!!
Everything I’ve tried in NYC is either too authentic (which is great not what I’m looking for) or just… not the same flavor/texture at all
Does anyone know spots in Manhattan, Brooklyn or Queens that matched that vibe??
