Has it occurred to us that the trendiest restaurants in NYC – according to influencers who just landed here yesterday – really just serve slightly elevated versions of common midwestern food? It’s all just steaks, burgers, pizza, and pasta. It’s fundamentally boring.
Once I realized that NYC food influencers are just hawking the food they miss from Ohio, it’s like the spell was broken. They don’t actually know anything about New York. I’m unfollowing, and just going to explore NYC restaurants the old fashioned way: accidental discovery.
