roundup of my favorite restaurants I visited in my Thanksgiving trip to nyc! I brought my parents & wanted them to have as best of an experience as they could, and the food was definitely a highlight of the trip for us.
i mostly wanted try as many unique restaurants as possible & avoid super touristy spots… spent about half my screen time the past 2 months lurking this sub to learn what to avoid and what was worth the money lol anyways, here goes!
Apollo bagels – maybe hot take but we loved this so much we went back thrice 😬 & 3. Cho Dang Gol – galbijim & the homemade tofu were insane. waited about an hour to get in Librae Bakery – Shakshuka focaccia 🤌🏼 & the tahini date latte was the best drink we tried Mary O’s Irish Soda Bread – scone w jam Shu Jiao Fu Zhou – pork & cabbage dumplings Pranakhon – Steamed fish (!!!!!) best thing we ate all trip West Rice Roll King – quick, cheap, delicious Clinton St. Baking Co – wasn’t the greatest blueberry pancakes I’ve ever had but still good Ilili NoMad – LAMB SHANK. I think about this at least once a day Veselka – everything here was amazing L’industrie – fig jam & bacon slice 💯 Raku – perfect on a rainy day. each bowl had a different broth and the noodle texture was incredible Peter Luger – had to try at least once; nobody warned me the onion rolls were so addicting Caffe Panna – good even when it’s cold out. also loved the Black Forest sundae & red flag with panna Yi Ji Shi Mo – learned to call ahead to avoid the hour wait lol Che Li – flaming beggars chicken was the most tender chicken I’ve ever had. smoked fried fish was great too Radio Bakery – French onion croissant 😭 Martha’s Country Bakery – berry napoleon was unreal Roy’s Fish Market – insane value for quality & money, this was $95 for the whole platter
