New York is considering two pilot programs to test a 4-day, 32-hour workweek without cutting pay or benefits. One would apply to state employees, and the other would give tax incentives to private employers who want to try it out.
If they pass, these bills would make NY the first state to take real legislative action on a shorter workweek. It’s not a universal change yet, but pilots like these helped pave the way for the 40-hour week back in FDR’s time.
Curious what folks here think. Would a 4-day workweek pilot make sense in NYC?
