Just an honest question. I am born in NYC. My father is an immigrant from Ecuador who got his papers in the 90s. My mother is born in NYC and is Puerto Rican.
A little backstory, I manage a law firm in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, but I live in Bushwick so I see two sides of things.
My office is 95% republican employed with Armenians and Ukrainians who all support Trump. I am one of five Latinos who work in the office, two of which are big Trump supporters.
I’ve seen a lot of Central and South Americans being deported. I’ve seen ICE in neighborhoods where Latinos are prevalent, such as mine.
But I haven’t seen one officer where my office is where many Uzbeks and Russians live. Has anyone had a different experience than mine?
I want to stay neutral in all of this but I can’t help but think being illegal is only a problem if you’re brown.
I would love to read your thoughts 💭
