A new kind of holiday market arrives in Tribeca this December — one guided by gallery sensibilities rather than retail trends. ONNI – Art & Design Holiday Market, presented by Isabel Sullivan Gallery and Lyle Gallery, introduces a Nordic sense of calm, intention, and design heritage to the season.
Running December 6–30, 2025, ONNI features 40+ artists and designers across collectible design, contemporary craft, and fine art. Instead of the usual December rush, the market reframes gifting as collecting — choosing objects made with care, skill, and narrative depth.
Curated by Isabel Sullivan and Lin Tyrpien, founders of women-led galleries, the show draws from Finland’s serene holiday markets, where design is woven into daily life and gifts become enduring objects. Nearly a quarter of participating artists are Finnish, and the title ONNI borrows the Finnish word for a gentle, holistic happiness.
The exhibition gathers an international group of makers — including artists featured in The New York Times and collected by major museums — offering sculptural lighting, playful glasswork, and refined craft. A glass popsicle by Paula Pääkkönen might sit beside a hand-carved wooden modem cover, functional objects shaped with quiet wit.
ONNI also offers a restorative space amid holiday chaos, with soft lighting, vinyl crackles, and the scent of pine and cardamom — a gentle counterpoint to the high-gloss retail landscape.
With previews for collectors, tastemakers, and the public, ONNI broadens the conversation around what we gift — and why. As co-curator Tyrpien notes, “We built a tiny mint-green portal in Tribeca. Step in.”
